Multi/Sub-Object Materials are quite commonly used whilst modeling with polys, but a lot of beginners to 3DS Max aren't aware of how to do this. I'm not sure about poly modeling with characters, but whenever i model an interior in Max, i always use Multi/Sub-Object Material/s for the reason that it is quicker and more organized than having to detach every face and apply a material separately. |
